The region Apulia is a very popular holiday destination, since it connects the two items „sea and culture“.

Moreover Apulia offers a rich gastronomic tradition with specialties as for example the „pasticciotto“, the „salsiccia leccese“ or the „pittule“.

An example are the localities Cutrofiano and Nardó, beside the famous destinations Ostuni and Gallipolo. Even Vieste is a favored destination for the bathing and wellness holidays. Polignano a Mare
This is a bathing resort in the province of Bari, which received the price „Bandiera Blu“ four years in series, thanks to the clean sea. Thanks to a singular architecture directly by the sea, this locality served as the scenery for numerous films. Even the singer Domenico Modugno was born here.
Taranto
Taranto ist he „city of the two oceans“, it offers numerous historic buildings, such as the Aragonesian castle and the Greek- Roman Necropolis. During the Second World War an important event took place in Taranto, it was of great strategical importance. In the surroundings of the city visitors can find a nature protection area, the so-called „Oasi Pallude La Vela“, where rare animals are living, like for example falcons, cranes, storks or common herons.
Nardó
Nardó is an important tourist center of the Salento, together with the near localities Sant’Isidoro and Santa Maria al Bagno. Nature lovers can visit the famous moor „Palude del Capitano“ and the Nature Park Porto Selvaggio. Nardó received the Legambiente- price „Five Sails“ four years in series, thanks to the clean ocean, the eco- friendly tourism and the respect for the nature. There are also cultural attractions like a Museum with attestations of Jewish people, which survived the holocaust. Examples are the famous „Murales“.
Castellaneta Marina
Castellaneta Marina is the seaside suburb of Castellaneta, birthplace of the actor Rodolfo Valentino. Castellaneta Marina was priced with one „sail“ by the union Legambiente, moreover it was inserted into the list „Guida Blu“. The locality offers a panoramic Green for a singular golf holiday.
